Trekking & Climbing in Cocuy

The 5 day trekking has 2 campsites; 1 at the bottom of Pan de Azucar and 1 at Laguna de la Plaza. The 1st day will be easy with this a few hours walk through Valle de Lagunillas to get acclimatized to the height. The 2nd day will be tough as we climb up to 5000m to the Devil Pulpit or even up to 5100m to the top of Pan de Azucar. The 3rd day we will walk to Laguna de la Plaza for the last 2 nights. If you are lucky you can see at this lake with sunrise Cerro Diamante changing into a gold color. The 4th day you have a few options, relax and enjoy the views, walk around the lake or climb up to an ice cave in one of the the glaciers of Cerros de la Plaza. The 5th day will be the walk back to catch transport back to Cocuy.

There will be one day of transport to get to Cocuy and one day back to Bogotá.

Hello,
we are interested in doing the Cucuy circuit as a trek in an organized way, but we do not want to return to bogota after trekking. the climbing activities sound nice as well, can you do suitable tours? we are two persons. I did Huayhuash Trekking and Ice Climbing in Peru and also Climbing in Bolivia (Huyana Potosi). My friend is not experienced, is there a way not to carry the big backpack if we do the circuit, can you organize that?
How would you rate the walking in this offer compared to the whole circuit?
Looking forward to your response, Verena

Hi -; We are a group of 4 people, and would like to do the trek you have described. We will be leaving Bogata on Monday, July 5th and need to return by Saturday, July 10th. Does the trek you have described include horses to carry gear? I am interested in talking with you more if you have a guide available for these dates. I can be contacted by email or I can call your number. Tambien hablo espanol!

Thank you very much,

Erica
