Tramping hiking trekking backpacking walking Adventures
The Tongariro Crossing – NZ’s best one-day hike.*
The Tongariro crossing track passes over varied and spectacular volcanic terrain. In the presence of active volcanoes, you can experience some of Tongariro National Park’s special charms- a cold mountain spring, lava flows, an active crater, steam vents, emerald- coloured lakes and magnificent views.
Tongariro Northern Circuit- ‘Great Walk” of NZ.*
This three-day trek winds its way over Mt Tongariro and around Mt Ngauruhoe, passing through unique and stunning landforms which include volcanic craters and glacial valleys ending with the famous Tongariro Crossing.
These trips can be done any time of year summer and winter. During winter you have the opportunity to walk on glaciers and snow-fields using crampons and enjoy all the sights of summer but without the crowds. You don’t need to be experienced or super-fit or to have expensive tramping gear – we can provide you with all equipment needed
Whanganui River Canoe Adventures* 1 day to 6 days Gently paddle through the unspoilt beauty of the Whanganui River National Park. Be amazed by the stunning gorges and the lush native forest. The Whanganui is an extremely safe river to navigate, however there are a number of small rapids that will increase the adrenaline flow and offer the chance of a refreshing dunk in the water. Accommodation is either in tents or DoC huts. All equipment is provided
Great Walks of New Zealand *The Whanganui River Journey, Tongariro Crossing and Tongariro Northern Circuit are all classified as Department of Conservation’s (DoC’s) ‘Great Walks’ of NZ. They pass through some of the best scenery in the country and the huts and tracks are of a higher standard than other areas.
Coromandel Sea Kayak
The Beauty of the Coromandel coastline is best enjoyed by sea. Spend the day paddling, fishing, snorkeling and swimming. Accommodation each night is in a typical “Kiwi Bach” This can be either a basic dwelling something more luxurious, yet all are situated in the most pristine positions, wether on the beachfront or with a magnificent view. All equipment is provided.
Holiday adventures and School Camps
Summer and Easter Coromandel and Whanganui Five days of Canoeing sea kayaking surfing fishing mountain biking snorkeling horse riding.
Winter Holidays July and September Five days of skiing and snowboarding. If the mountain is closed, we’ll organise activities such as rafting hot pools horse riding indoor climbing and bush walks.
School Camps For local and international Schools North Is and South Is. We organise everything. Accomom transport activities catering supervision

Experience and Qualifications
Stewart Barclay is the head of the comapany and likes to head each adventure himself. Where there is a need he has qualified staff accompanying him. Stewart has been actively involved in the outdoors and sports for 25 years. He has completed 6 Ironman races including 2 Hawaii Ironman. He is a current team leader for the Turangi (Tonngariro) Search and Rescue and has been a member for the last 5 years. He has certificates in river rescue, alpine guiding including snow and avalanche awareness, and first aid. All guides also have appropriate qualifications for their tasks. |
