Mount Rainier
Mount Rainier is located 54 miles SE of Seattle, Washington and it is originally named as Tahoma / Tacoma which means "mother of waters". With a height of 4392 meters, Mount Rainier is a good place for many Outdoor Activities such as Hiking, Climbing, Camping, and winter sports like Snowshoeing and Cross-country Skiing.
Mount Rainier has three summits:
Columbia Crest - 14411 feet (highest point) Point Success -14158 feet (SW) Liberty Cap - 14112 feet (NW)
Climbing Mt. Rainier can be very challenging. Weather conditions and mental and physical readiness affect the entire climb. It takes about three days to reach the summit. Therefore, careful planning, readiness, knowledge on the trails, routes, first aid and rescue, etc., and experience are important facotrs that should be considered.
Best Time to Climb
May to August are the best time to climb Mount Rainier, but trips can be made all year.
