This Bavarian style resort is located in the northwest lower peninsula of Michigan in Charlevoix County, about 250 miles north of Detroit and 17 miles south of Petoskey on US-131. Soon to be recognized as the Midwest’s largest four-season active lifestyle resort, Boyne Mountain offers snowsports, golf, lodging, dining, meeting facilities, a variety of outdoor activities and real estate opportunities. The “Renaissance of Boyne Mountain” has begun and the anchor of this resort-wide master plan is the Mountain Grand Lodge. The 220 unit condominium-hotel will offer luxurious accommodations with state-of-the-art technology, an 18,000 square foot spa and fitness center, full service restaurant/lounge, an indoor/outdoor pool and hot tub and numerous guest amenities and conveniences. As an addition to Boyne Mountain’s core amenities of snowsports and golf, construction is also underway on Avalanche Bay™, an 88,000 square foot indoor waterpark structurally connected to Mountain Grand Lodge. This aquatic wonderland for all ages will feature an expansive series slides, tubes, waves, pools and falls as well as an arcade, food and beverage outlets, retail and spacious family changing areas. As centerpieces of the Austrian-Swiss architecturally-themed resort village, Mountain Grand Lodge and Avalanche Bay™ are owned and operated by Boyne Mountain Recreation, LLC and Boyne Mountain Management, LLC, both owned by Boyne USA Resorts and New Frontiers Capital, LLC and scheduled to open in May 2005.

Cross-country Skiing  Over the past 15 years Lou Awodey has made the Boyne Nordic Center the standard in the Midwest. Boyne Nordican features over 62k of groomed and track set trails, though some of the best terrain in the Nation. Imagine meandering through hundreds of acres of mature hardwoods, mountain streams and majestic snow covered pines while exercising your body and rejuvenating your soul. We even have a lift assist to the top of the mountain if you like an easier and faster time.
Fishing  The wooded hill country around Boyne Mountain provides classic fly-fishing habitat: rich, wet and ribboned by blue streams. Close to Boyne Mountain runs the Boyne River, flush with brown trout and rainbows. It also hosts steelhead and salmon (in-season) making it one of the best all-around fly-fishing venues in the country. On resort property and just steps away from the Deer Lake Vilas are perch, bluegill and northern pike. - All found in the calm waters of Deer Lake. After a morning on the lake, lunch for you is only a few steps from shore. Enjoy great food and drink at the Beach House Restaurant.

Interested in getting on the Great Lakes? Fishing charters search Lake Michigan waters for trout and salmon, and are another option for gaining access to hundreds of near-by inland lakes. Including the famous "Chain of Lakes," stretching from Petoskey to the straits of Mackinaw. Charter a boat from Petoskey, Harbor Springs or Boyne City, which are all easily accessible from any Boyne Michigan Resort.

Mountain Biking  Boyne Mountain offers 16 miles of mountain bike trails for riders of all levels. Included in these trails is a 9-˝ mile cross-country trail with single and wide tracks developed for summer racing events such as the "24 Hours of Boyne" race. It's a challenging ride which climbs over the mountain and runs down near the Alpine and Monument Pro Shop near Deer Lake. The trails are well marked with descriptive names like Stairway, Rootsville, Nip N' Tuck, Outback and Daytona. Mountain Bike enthusiasts will enjoy the scenic Michigan trails and fresh northern air. Wildlife is abundant with deer, rabbit, fox and many other native animals and birds making their home in the Boyne Mountain woodlands.

The trails are free to the public and bikes are available for rent at the Boyne Mountain Boyne Country Sports Store. Rentals are $5 for 2 hours or $10 for 5 hours. Riders also have the option of taking the Hemlock chairlift to the top of the mountain where they can then enter several trailheads such as "Super Bowl" and "No Mercy" or try our two challenging down hill courses. The Hemlock chairlift is open Friday and Saturday, 5:00 to 10:00pm during the summer.

Skiing  At BOYNE MOUNTAIN, you'll enjoy 62 meticulously groomed slopes for all skiing abilities. The longest run is nearly 2 miles long. Snowsports enthusiasts have 12 lifts to choose from including the only 6-place high-speed chair lift in the Midwest. Here at the Mountain we have the ability to transport 19,200 skiers per hour! The Mountain's terrain parks and halfpipes showcase some of the regions best riders and events through out the season. Both alpine and snowboard rentals, plus repairs are available. Night skiing is also an option at Boyne Mountain. Whether you like it smooth and steep, long or leisurely. We have it all! Boyne Mountain has consistently received top honors year after year for the best mountain in the Midwest by Ski Magazine. Come and experience the difference! The Austrian instructors at the Boyne International Snow Sports School have set the standards for teaching technique and expertise on the slopes. With their American counterparts, they have made Boyne skiing synonymous with great instruction.
Snowboarding  The Best Halfpipes and Terrain Parks in the Midwest, are groomed regularly with our own Pipe Dragon™. If you can't make the action in the pipe, you can catch it live on the the Pipe Cam on BTV.
Snowshoeing  Our 3,500 acres are yours to explore. We have miles of scenic trails rolling through rolling forests and meadows designed for all endurance levels.
Snowtubing  Feel like a kid all over again! Tubing at the Mountain is fast, exhilarating and thoroughly smiled upon. Because of its growth in popularity, the park has been relocated to the bottom of the Top Notch run. Making it easier to access with more convenient parking. It also has been expanded to provide more thrills to more people at a time! BOYNE'S TUBING PARKS are the fastest ride around. HANG ON TIGHT!
