Purcell Mountain Lodge

Accessible only by helicopter, Purcell Mountain Lodge is a finely crafted timber-frame lodge featuring 10 private rooms, electricity generated from a mountain stream, gleaming wood floors, a cozy living room with fireplace, a traditional cedar sauna, and a dining room raved about in “Gourmet” Magazine. A new and luxurious private chalet now compliments the main building.

The Lodge is located in the remote mountains of British Columbia, surrounded by Canada’s largest alpine meadow. To the west lies rugged Glacier National Park, and to the east the world famous Canadian Rockies rise up to touch the sky. From our ideal location, we can offer our guests a wide variety of guided recreational opportunities on our many adjacent alpine peaks, ridges, bowls and meadows.

Summer programs include mountain ridge hiking, meadow walking, nature observation, photography and relaxation. Winter activities are dominated by cross-country skiing, alpine touring, telemark skiing, snowshoeing, snowboarding, and even tobogganing. There is terrain for every level of expertise and instruction in all sports is complimentary.

Join us for an unforgettable holiday in one of the truly remote regions of the world.

Schedules & Itineraries

Your holiday at Purcell Mountain Lodge begins with a spectacular helicopter ride over the Purcell Mountains. Rising up to 10,000 feet (3000m), the helicopter provides unparalleled views of the Canadian Rockies and the rugged Selkirk Mountains.

At the Lodge, you can settle into your room and then enjoy hot coffee, tea and freshly-baked goods while the guides give you an overview of what to expect on your mountain vacation. Each day, they will suggest a list of options for the day's activities - everything from easy walks/ski tours across the alpine meadows, to peak ascents and wide open slopes filled with deep powder snow (winter).

Each morning, you'll enjoying a delicious and hearty breakfast, and each evening you'll come home to the smell of freshly-baked treats and a mouth-watering dinner.

You're welcome to be as active or as relaxed as you want on your Purcell Mountain Lodge vacation - there's nothing wrong with spending the day in our cozy library, enjoying a good book surrounded by stunning mountain scenery!
