General:

The East Kooteney region of the Rockies tends to play little sister to the more famed Albertan Rockies areas. This imbalance will not last for long. The East Kooteneys and the Elk Valley in particular offer equally as beautiful scenary but with the added bonus of unspoiled wilderness areas.
The fishing, hiking, mountain biking and kayaking availalble from Fernie make it a certain future summer as well as famed winter destination.

Fishing  Fly fishing on the Elk River
The Elk, Wigwam, Flathead and Bull Rivers are amongst the top North American rivers for those who wish to fly fish for trout. Visitors can enjoy the easily accessible fishing on the Elk, or can be guided to some outstanding spots on the other three rivers to catch some seriously big Bull and Cutthroat Trout.

The crystal clear waters of the Elk Valley and the spectacular scenery ensure that anglers have a wonderful trip. We can offer guided fishing trips to any of the four rivers, either drift, raft or wading.
