Camping World Cup 2010
TUESDAY, 29 JUNE 2010
Another four years down and it’s that time for the World Cup again – didn’t it just feel like last week when
Zidane was kicked off the pitch for head butting Materazzi and Italy stole the winning title? It has literally
come round so quickly it feels as though we haven’t fully prepared for its welcomed arrival. You’re
constantly reminded of this huge celebration when you walk to the shops and see England flags hanging out
of windows, cars zooming past with blurs of red and white and merry people wearing silly hats. Thank
goodness they seem to only appear during this time and on St. Patricks Day strangely enough.
So, if you’ve already bought your silly hat, have you got the ‘Proud to be British’ flags to go with it? We’ve got two rather large, in-your-face patriotic British flags that can be seen below.
Gelert St. Georges Cross - Large England National Flag 5' x 3' (150 x 90cm) £9.99
Gelert Union Flag aka Union Jack - Large 5' x 3' (150 x 90cm) £9.99
It’s the first time that an African nation has hosted the World Cup tournament so for those of you who have
literally gone the extra mile to see the World Cup and are flying to South Africa, have you thought about
saving a little money with regard to accommodation? Taking into account that the airfare must have cost a
few bob and then there’s the drinking fund on top of that, we have been putting together tent packages to
help people save money and make sure that camping is a hassle free experience from purchasing to
pitching.
Our wide range of package deals has been designed for a number of people and their needs, from the lone
camper to large parties. Please see below a small sample of what we have to offer…
Camping World Festival Tent Package ECO 1 Man £37.50
Camping World Festival Tent Package COMFORT 2 Man £99.98
Outwell Oakland S Tent Package Deal 2010 3 Man £148.99
Camping World Festival Tent Package DLX 4 Man £180.00
Camping World Festival Tent Package THE BIG SLEEPER 4/5 Man £140.00
Camping World Festival Tent Package ECO GROUP 8 £225.00
Camping World Festival Tent Package THE PARTY PALACE £650.00
If you have booked your ticket to South Africa and haven’t quite got the accommodation planned, I’ve put
together a few possible campsites you could stay at:
Tent City www.tentcity.co.za
Country Park www.sa-venues.com/visit/countrypark
Malonjeni Guest Farm www.sa-venues.com/visit/malonjeniguestfarm
Wavecrest www.wavecrest.caravanparks.co.za
For those who plan to stay in the comfort of their own home to watch the games, have you thought of the dilemma if you have loads of friends over and there is limited fridge space for cold bevies? We have! Cool
Boxes are the way forward and you don’t have to be outdoors as an excuse to use them!
So now for the tick list:
Now what else have we forgotten?
Aha! Binoculars! If you’ve bought the cheapest seats available and are high up in the stands having nose
bleeds due to the altitude? Then you may need some binoculars to see the players on the pitch. It’s cheaper
than going to Specsavers.
Gelert Vision Binocular 2010 £6.99
Another little chestnut that you may have forgotten are whistles! Blow you whistle at the TV screen and
pretend you’re the referee and annoy everyone.
Gelert Sports Whistle and Lanyard 2010 £3.99
The last thing to do now is to sit back and enjoy yourself, whether you're in your front room, down the pub
or sitting in the midst of all the action in South Africa.
