For cheap Holidays in Australia, camping, caravels, RV or campervans offer, one after another, top spots with plenty of activities and lots of happenings. For locals, campfire nights are the best weekend hang outs while for travelers from round the world, it’s a new way to see the Australia in its full bloom. Also, cheap one way flights to Australia or domestic flights are available with a good n umber of low cost airlines for travelers from across the borders, which make it both entertaining and affordable.

The mighty King size, country offers a total of around 2800 campgrounds and promising locations to park you RV or fix you camps and enjoy free luxurious vacations. Also availability of so many places to stop by and so many sites to see, guarantees that you will easily find a corner to yourself or your partners for a much cool and cozy vacation even if you made plans and booked last minute flights, need not to worry. Rather, some times last minute flights are also the cheapest flights to Australia as the shutters are going down; they sell it at big bargains.

A total favorite site for camping in Australia is Nagambie Lake, Victoria. Situated at the edge of Nagambie town, the lake offers just the perfect spot for camping, campfire, bird watching, kayaking, fishing in sweet water, water skiing, rowing and canoeing. Also there are perfect dine outs, restaurants in close proximity of the lake that offer exquisite wine selections. Also, other activities you can indulge in (if you want to feel the extreme adrenaline rush) are skydiving and gliding. In evenings, Nagambie Lake transforms form an inviting adventure to a calm, tranquil and romantic location that casts its magic over all.

If water is not your thing and you are coming from Bondi Beach Sydney already than go for camping in Borumba Deer Park, here also you may be allowed to bring you pet brownie (if that’s your dog’s name too). The fun of camp stories, camp cooking and campfire will stay with you for a good long time. Other famous campgrounds in Australia are located in nearly all regions including Victoria National Parks, Western Australia National Parks, Northern Territory National Parks, New South Wales National Parks, Queensland National Parks and Tasmania National Parks.

Before leaving do not forget to take and check your camping kit, first aid box and torch with spare batteries. Also watch the weather report, check if there is any hunting / fishing permits required, if pets are welcomed, campfire permitted etc. Try to abide by any regulations or rules and campfire safety directions. Do not harm the environment mainly for the ozone sake which is up high but also it may cost you a handsome penalty down below.

So what are you waiting for? Cheap flights and camping sites are all over Australia.

Another four years down and it’s that time for the World Cup again – didn’t it just feel like last week when Zidane was kicked off the pitch for head butting Materazzi and Italy stole the winning title? It has literally come round so quickly it feels as though we haven’t fully prepared for its welcomed arrival. You’re constantly reminded of this huge celebration when you walk to the shops and see England flags hanging out of windows, cars zooming past with blurs of red and white and merry people wearing silly hats. Thank goodness they seem to only appear during this time and on St. Patricks Day strangely enough.

So, if you’ve already bought your silly hat, have you got the ‘Proud to be British’ flags to go with it? We’ve got two rather large, in-your-face patriotic British flags that can be seen below.

Gelert St. Georges Cross - Large England National Flag 5' x 3' (150 x 90cm) £9.99
Gelert Union Flag aka Union Jack - Large 5' x 3' (150 x 90cm) £9.99

It’s the first time that an African nation has hosted the World Cup tournament so for those of you who have literally gone the extra mile to see the World Cup and are flying to South Africa, have you thought about saving a little money with regard to accommodation? Taking into account that the airfare must have cost a few bob and then there’s the drinking fund on top of that, we have been putting together tent packages to help people save money and make sure that camping is a hassle free experience from purchasing to pitching.

Our wide range of package deals has been designed for a number of people and their needs, from the lone camper to large parties. Please see below a small sample of what we have to offer…

Camping World Festival Tent Package ECO 1 Man £37.50
Camping World Festival Tent Package COMFORT 2 Man £99.98
Outwell Oakland S Tent Package Deal 2010 3 Man £148.99
Camping World Festival Tent Package DLX 4 Man £180.00
Camping World Festival Tent Package THE BIG SLEEPER 4/5 Man £140.00
Camping World Festival Tent Package ECO GROUP 8 £225.00
Camping World Festival Tent Package THE PARTY PALACE £650.00

If you have booked your ticket to South Africa and haven’t quite got the accommodation planned, I’ve put together a few possible campsites you could stay at:

Tent City www.tentcity.co.za
Country Park www.sa-venues.com/visit/countrypark
Malonjeni Guest Farm www.sa-venues.com/visit/malonjeniguestfarm
Wavecrest www.wavecrest.caravanparks.co.za

For those who plan to stay in the comfort of their own home to watch the games, have you thought of the dilemma if you have loads of friends over and there is limited fridge space for cold bevies? We have! Cool Boxes are the way forward and you don’t have to be outdoors as an excuse to use them!

So now for the tick list:
  • Patriotic flag – check
  • Tent for South Africa or pretend you’re there in your back garden – check
  • Cool box to keep the drinks cold – check
  • Now what else have we forgotten?

Aha! Binoculars! If you’ve bought the cheapest seats available and are high up in the stands having nose bleeds due to the altitude? Then you may need some binoculars to see the players on the pitch. It’s cheaper than going to Specsavers.

    Gelert Vision Binocular 2010 £6.99

Another little chestnut that you may have forgotten are whistles! Blow you whistle at the TV screen and pretend you’re the referee and annoy everyone.

Gelert Sports Whistle and Lanyard 2010 £3.99

The last thing to do now is to sit back and enjoy yourself, whether you're in your front room, down the pub or sitting in the midst of all the action in South Africa.

Phoenix, AZ - With the valley heating up each day as we approach the holidays, this is the year to go way north to camp and celebrate Independence Day in cooler climes at Lyman Lake State Park.

On Saturday, July 3, the State Park and the St. Johns Chamber will host a charity rubber duck race followed by celebatory fireworks. Enjoy the show over the lake with loud booms echoing against
canyon walls and lights flashing and reflecting off the lake. Rubber duck races begin around 5 p.m. and the evening's fireworks will start at dark. (Approx. 8:30 p.m.) The fee for the day is $7 per vehicle (up to 6 people) and $1 for each additional person.

Summer days at Lyman Lake State Park are perfect for fishing, water skiing, camping and hiking. There are many other trout fishing lakes in the area as well. The park features 61 camping sites with shade ramadas, picnic tables and grills. There are also four air conditioned camping cabins ($50) and four (16-feet round) yurts ($35) which are booked most weekends throughout the summer, but usually available on weekdays.

There are also many primitive camping sites along the lake and the park almost always has room somewhere for campers during weekends in the summer. Salem, OR -- Straub Environmental Learning Center’s first Family Nature Retreat Weekend takes place on Saturday, July 10th and Sunday, July 11th, 2010 at Drift Creek Center, Lincoln City, Oregon.

The Friends of Straub Environmental Learning Center (FSELC) are excited to announce their first Family Nature Retreat overnight weekend at Drift Creek Nature Center. Drift Creek Nature Cente
r is located at Drift Creek Camp near Lincoln City, Oregon. The nature retreat is open to all families interested in participating in short naturalist hikes and exploration trips. Topics include wildflowers, nocturnal animals, insects, and much more.

Activities start Saturday morning at 10:00 am after check-in. Participants will have many opportunities to take part in the day’s events with three different hour-long field trips to choose from. Lunch and dinner will be provided by Drift Creek Camp.

The goal of the Family Nature Retreat is to provide a family-oriented event that caters to all ages, where children and adults alike can have fun learning about the natural world while exploring the unique ecosystem that exists within the old growth forest surrounding Drift Creek Camp.

This collaboration between FSELC and Drift Creek Camp offers the ideal opportunity for both organizations to promote their mission and goals- partnering with the community to “create an awareness and understanding of our relationship to the environment” (FSELC) and fostering an “appreciation for the important ecological contributions of the coastal rain forest.” (Drift Creek Camp).

Aislinn Adams of Aislinn Adams Design, a FSELC Board member since 2006, will lead the Family Nature Retreat wild flower hikes. Adams is an Irish born graphic designer specializing in illustration. Her business Aislinn Adams Design creates greeting cards and prints inspired by her life long interest in the outdoors, gardening with native plants, and environmental education. For ten years she produced a weekly botanical illustration for the “Digging In” gardening column of the Washington Post.

Adams is a great supporter of the Family Nature Retreat not only because of her love for the outdoors and passion for environmental education but most especially because this family-oriented event provides a much needed opportunity for families to enjoy learning about nature together in a beautiful setting. “Children need to get outdoors to explore the natural world around them: to experience the wonder and awe of walking in Oregon’s old-growth rain forests. What better way to do this than on a Family Nature Retreat?” Adams also adds that she is “continuously inspired by FSELC board and committee members and the host of volunteer environmentalists who share their knowledge generously and give their time willingly at such events.”
