LA JOLLA, Calif. - As part of the company's dedication to support and encourage environmental education, Bear Naked, the natural foods innovator, will host a trail clean-up day on June 5, during the annual Teva Mountain Games in Vail, Colo. In partnership with the U.S. Forest Service, and in conjunction with National Trails Day, Bear Naked volunteers will lend their time to improving Middle/Spraddle Creek Trail in Vail Valley.
"We are excited to host our first Bear Naked Trail Day at this year's Teva Mountain Games," said Ryan Therriault, senior manager, brand marketing and innovation. "At Bear Naked, educating our consumers and supporting environmental causes is extremely important. Just as we are committed to providing 100 percent natural foods, we are committed to protecting and preserving the outdoor spaces we love and inspiring people to enjoy them."
Bear Naked Trail Day will begin at 7:30 a.m. with a breakfast comprised of granola, Stonyfield Oikos Greek Yogurt and fresh fruit at the trail head. All volunteers will receive a Bear Naked-branded water bottle and a limited edition "Keep It Clean" t-shirt (while supplies last) in exchange for a few hours of trail work throughout Middle/Spraddle Creek in Colorado's backcountry. "Vail's trails offer wonderful opportunities to engage in outdoor activity and enjoy what nature has to offer," continued Therriault. "It's a great feeling to be able to help maintain and conserve them while having fun."
The Teva Mountain Games is the country's largest gathering of mountain sports where professional and amateur outdoor adventure athletes converge upon the mountains and rivers of Vail to compete in various events. In addition to spearheading the Bear Naked Trail Day during the Games, brand ambassadors will be handing out Bear Naked granola parfaits June 4-7. They also will be at the Bear Naked Adventure Village, an interactive, family-friendly area where everyone can experience the excitement of the Games, June 5-7. Here, anyone can jump in a kayak tank, scale a pop-up climbing wall and partake in many other sports showcased at the Games.
