An injured hiker was rescued by a group of Boy Scouts at Mt. Shasta yesterday.
According to reports, the 35-year old hiker identified as Olga Teslenko fell into a gorge in Mt. Shasta two days ago. Teslenko informed the sheriff's deputies that she was hiking alone last Saturday, August 2, when she slipped on a glacier and fell. She tried to get help for two days but to no avail.
The Varsity Boy Scout Explorer group spotted Teslenko and immediately informed the authorities. Teslenko was later brought to the Mercy Medical Center in Shasta and was then transferred to Mercy Medical Center in Redding. She sustained injuries and was in serious condition.
