Safe Hiking Promoted in Honor of Meredith Emerson

Right to Hike, Inc. is calling all hiking and outdoor enthusiasts to join them in their effort to promote hiking safety through Dining to Donate program in metro Atlanta Applebee's restaurants. The Dining to Donate program is a tribute to hiker Meredith Emerson who was abducted and murdered during the New Year's Day hike in North Georgia.

The event will take place tonight, June 25. Right to Hike will also hold a demonstration at the Applebee's Perimeter Center Place location. Board members and friends of Emerson will be present.

The group hopes to raise money to equip hikers and outposts with pagers which will notify authorities of their locations in times of emergency.
