The Adirondack Hiking Trail in New York will be undergoing some changes. The trail is being maintained by the state Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC).
DEC recently revealed its plans to move the southern station of the said trail about six miles to the south in order to keep hikers from hiking on the highway.
Meanwhile, a new hiking route is currently awaiting the final approval from the Shaker Mountain Unit Management Plan. The trail will lead hikers through the mountains surrounding Giffords Valley to the West Stony Creek, and passes through Benson Road.
