Body of Hiker Caught in Avalanche Found

The body of the missing student who got caught in an avalanche while hiking on Mount Rainier earlier in the week was found by search team last Friday, December 21.
Kevin Bacher, Mount Rainier National Park Spokesman confirmed that the body was identified as that of missing Edmonds Community College student, Kirk Reiser.
According to reports, 22-year old Reiser was supposed to embark on a five mile trip to Camp Muir with his hiking partner Troy Metcalf. However, Reiser went missing last Tuesday after triggering an avalanche just outside of Paradise.
Reiser’s death is the sixth avalanche-related death in the area.
