POST Offers more Scenic Hiking Trails

WEDNESDAY, 28 NOVEMBER 2007

The Peninsula Open Space Trust (POST) of California is offering the public more opportunities to enjoy scenic hiking trails with their recent purchase of 204 acres of hillside land.

According to an announcement made last Tuesday, the said land was bought for $3 million. It is situated close to El Granada and is bordered by another POST-owned area, the Rancho Corral de Tierra.

POST President Audrey Rust said that the newly acquired land provides new alternatives to link Rancho Corral de Tierra to other protected areas as well as expands chances for area’s network of scenic hiking trails.

The Peninsula Open Space Trust is a private non-profit land trust that aims to preserve the beauty and diversity of the San Francisco Peninsula landscape. The organization was founded in 1977, and through the years, it has managed to save about 60,000 acres of permanent open space and parkland.
