Greenways Foundation Names New Exec. Director

Greenways Foundation, a non profit foundation based in Indianapolis that aims to promote the development and use of greenways in Indiana, has named its new executive director - Carmel City Council member Ronald E. Carter.

Carter, an avid bicyclist, is a promoter of hiking and biking trails. He had promoted the Monon Greenway in Carmel, and for promoting Carmel as a bicycle-friendly city, he received an award from the Chamber of Commerce last December.

"This gives me an opportunity to follow a passion that I've had for 20 years," Carter said Tuesday. "It's a growing passion to take the story of greenways and rails-to-trails and linear parks to the entire state," Carter added.
