Arizona Trail Segment, a Trekker's Choice
MONDAY, 18 DECEMBER 2006
Tucson hiker Larry Barnhill describes the Arizona Trail segment as "very hiker friendly". Barnhill also said that the trail segment would be a "trekker's choice".
The Arizona Trail segment spans 2.5 miles has been recently completed after two years. It's a recreational path for hiking, trail running, horse-back riding, and mountain biking. "Mountain bikers will like the down hills," says Barnhill. "Not too technical, but you do need some skill," he added. The trail is also user-friendly for trail runners.
The Arizona Trail segment starts from the Pistol Hill Road, passing through rocky foothills and ends in the picnic area in the Colossal Cave. The trail is a second segment of the 22-mile Arizona Trail's Cienege Corridor.
