U.S. Marine Missing in Eldorado Canyon State Park

THURSDAY, 31 AUGUST 2006

A missing U.S. Marine fell while hiking in Eldorado Canyon State Park. The twenty-one years old, Lance Hering from south Boulder fell about fifteen feet and then rolled down a steep slope another 30 feet, injuring his head.

Hering, a white male and about 5’8 tall hasn’t been seen since his twenty years old buddy Steve Powers left him in the area to ask for help in the park five miles south of Boulder.

An intense ground search is currently on-going in the area where Hering disappeared.
