"Father of heli-hiking" leads a hiking adventure

Hans Gmoser, inventor of heli-hiking and heli-skiing, will lead an 11- day hiking adventure through British Columbia's mountains. This was according to a report by www.travelvideo.tv.
Together with his wife Margaret and a limited number of participants, Gnomer will explore British Columbia's diverse terrain from August 20-31, 2006. The hikers will stay in renowned lodges in British Columbia namely the Monashees, Adamants, Bobbie Burns, and Bugaboos, as well as the Battle Abbey, a mountaineering hut in Selkrik Mountains.
Hans Gmoser has been recognized as a leader of sustainable tourism, thus earning him a place in the Canadian Tourism Hall of Fame. He is also the founder of the Canadian Mountain Holidays, the world's largest heli-skiing and heli-hiking company.
