"Adventure Rabbi" Preaches From Mountaintops
TUESDAY, 30 MAY 2006
Those who look at rabbis or any religious figure for that matter as overly serious people who do not have time for fun, then Colorado's Rabbi Jamie Korngold may just make you change your mind.
In a feature written by Melissa Trujillo of the Associated Press, she writes about Korngold and her unusual style of preaching to her congregation. The self-proclaimed "Adventure Rabbi" can preside over bar mitzvahs, weddings and other ceremonies anywhere imaginable. She can do it in ski and snowboard resorts in winter and other outdoor locations for activities such as hiking during summer.
But despite of her style, she says that she does not forget to put more weight on the religious aspect of what she does by saying that the frosting should not be a substitute for the cake.
