American Hiking Society Is Seeking Interns

TUESDAY, 11 APRIL 2006

The American Hiking Society is currently offering internship programs to help in the society's various activities in either their Maryland or Tennessee office. Candidates must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, as well as strong research and organizational skills and should have an interest in conservation and/or outdoor recreation.

Once accepted, the intern can learn about a variety of things such as non-profit management, recreation and conservation policy, volunteer programs, communications, fund raising and development. Aside from that, interns will also be able to experience attending and reporting on congressional hearings, writing for the American Hiker Magazine as well as helping in organizing the Volunteer Vacations and the National Trail Day programs. Accepted interns will also be receiving a stipend of $500. They may choose to work part time or full time, with flexible scheduling.

If you think you are up to the job, then you may find out more about it by following this link. It contains details such as the deadline of the application as well as the contact persons and their contact details.
