When it comes to enjoying a trek within a natural blend of different scenic landscapes, there is no location quite like Rocky Mountain National Park.
Found in the north central region of Colorado State, from this great park lives picturesque mountain views, glacial peaks, rich wildlife, lush forestry, and overflowing history.
The Continental Divide made famous the natural blend of two distinct natural characteristics found in the park. From the east side of the park is the dry and icy
terrain and mountain peaks while the west side is blanketed by tropical woodlands, serene meadows, and refreshing streams and lakes.
Hiking in Rocky Mountain National Park is also a famous tourist activity. Networks of trails span the entire area and provide a variety of captivating sights to enjoy at every turn.
A famous tourist destination, a visit to the park can be quite strenuous with so many people flocking here for some R and R. It is important to pick the most suited trail for you or your party to get most out of the trip without having that mall-sale experience. You can even ask the local ranger for some lightly used trails you can try to avoid the crowd altogether.
Hiking trails leading to a variety of beautiful scenery is scattered all over the park. If you're up for a bit of uphill climbing, there are routes that will take you to the top of Deer Mountain, Twin Sisters Peak, and Sundance Mountain. These trails are relatively moderate to easy terrain. Taking the Bear Lake trailhead to Flattop Mountain, however, is a difficult hike, but the vistas will make it all worth it.
Hiking along bodies of water provides for a more serene experience. Easy to Moderate trails such as the Bear and Cub Lake is always a crowd pleaser while Lone Pine Lake poses a challenge for expert hikers.
Besides hiking, Rocky Mountain National Park is also a destination for other outdoor activities such as picnics, backbacking,
camping, horse-backriding and
rock climbing. No matter what you choose, it’s a guarantee that the sheer view of nature alone is bound to make the trip memorable enough.
