Have The Best Day Hikes in Connecticut If you happen to visit the great Constitution State or just one of the locals looking for a great vacation spot with a few friends and family, how about going on some day hikes in Connecticut? With a great number of popular hiking destinations, it’s quite impossible to miss a thrilling nature trip into one of these trails.

Bear Mountain. Found in Mt. Riga state park, Salisbury CT, this is one of the most popular hiking trails in the state. An outing to its trails can give you a great view of neighboring mountains and breathtaking lakes. Its forest is filled rich wildlife that is sure to make a great adventure with the entire gang.

The Devil's Den Preserve. Located in Redding CT, this trail is home to lush green woodlands overflowing with great foliage and history. It is a wonderful place for a nature walk as you are bound to be taken by a great scenery that could very well give you one of the best day hikes of your life.

If you are looking for a little more challenge, you can never go wrong with the Appalachian National Scenic Trail. This long stretch of scenic route stretches on a 2,174-mile path along the ridge crests and major valleys of the Appalachian Mountains. The entire path crosses over the states of Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Virginia, Tennessee, North Carolina and Georgia. Entered through the CT National Park, Trails can be taken from short hiking trips to weekend camping excursions.

Lastly, you can't leave CT without a short visit to the Indian Council Caves Trail. A brief trip to these amazing caves is also filled with an awe-inspiring forestry and sweet smelling pine trees. This is one perfect place to relax and appreciate nature at its best.
