This sounds interesting. I worked with IP's for a period of time. The Mentawai people of the sumatra island in Indonesia are an interesting group. Anyway..i want to join this climb you are talking about.

seeing IP groups on mountains makes trips so much more beautiful. I once had to stop in 4 different mountain villages and actually sleep there before reaching my place of destination. They served us wine, herbs and lot of food. I dont know what that drink was made off but my friend fred told me it was rice wine of some sort. It was so strong. I thought i was hallucinating. They have some strong tea up there too. Sometimes a little euphoric.

i dont doubt it but im pretty sure if there are still practices like such then these would be in hidden worlds in mountains and rain forrests. Try Haiti, India and some asian countries. Are you on a search fro them? It would be really interesting to MEET a group, not be MEAT of the group.
