i currently have an msr pocket rocket stove. i like it but i want something a little more. so i have been looking at the Jetboil. it is small, fast and completely self containing. from what i have seen and read it's the real deal. do any of you have one? if not what kind of stove and cooking set up do you have?

Hi there
I own a few cookers and do have a couple of jetboils. I find the jetboil very easy to use and compact .
If you want to boil water or heat up a cup of noodles real fast in uncomfortable positions the jetboil does that job real well. I have also found that it doesn't work that well in very cold temperatures.
In the last two years when I get out by myself I have been taking my jetboil . I am kind of old school and it sometimes take me a while to use or accept something new but with the Jetboil not long

thanks bush pig,
you helped confirm what i read and heard from others. the pictures are a nice touch too. i have also heard that the jetboil isn't that great in really cold conditions, but thats ok. probably the coldest weather i will be out in would be around freezing.

i always like hearing what the experts use and suggest to use. it helps me a lot more than the than the items manufacturer description.

thanks,
travis

The charm of hiking is going oldschool, so yeah, say thumbs up to Jetboil... But I haven't really gone out during the most hostile weather

I use "Jet Boil" and love it. They've never failed me. I like how everything packs up and stores with-in it's own container. For the cost and durability I don't think you can beat it. I also have a cheap coleman "spider" stove that works well.
I find the fuel for both are reasonabliy priced. The coleman stove's fuel is easier to find at the local Walmart, but a little preperation goes along ways.
If I had to buy or reccommend a new stove I'd go with the "Jet Boil" no dought about it.

Live life as if were your last on planet earth, then wake up and go to work. Hell I guess thats what the weekend are for.
