OK, I need some help. I'm writing a new article titiled "25 THINGS EVERYMAN SHOULD KNOW". I need some input. This doesn't have to be based on the outdoors. I was thinking of how to change the oil in your car, build a camp fire, sew a button on shirt. Typical things, nothing major or hard core. Please let me know what you think. Thanks for the input. Every man should know how to hunt to put meat on the table.
Every man should know how to cook - basic fare, not fancy stuff!
Every man should know how to start a fire.
Every man should know how to make basic shelter.
There's a few essentials . . .

No problem. I thought that the suggestion for sewing buttons was a great one as well.

More ideas....
Find and Purify/Filter water. We don't last long without water!
Know basic mechanical repair. He should not be a stranger to hammer, wrench, screwdrivers, etc.
Keep his mate happy - providing for her and the kid's welfare and shelter. Yeah, THIS one can be difficult sometimes....

I think every man should learn to do things manually. Being a tech-savvy is not enough. I also think that man should know traditional stuff, like making a fire out from friction, boiling water using plastic and other 'boy scout stuff"
