Im in the Boy Scouts and im doing a 100 mile hike this summer at philmont in alberque new mexico (in the mountains) and i don't know whether to get hiking or boots. Shoes lighter, boots more ankle support?

If it is me, on long treks I would go with boots.

I prefer shoes. I feel more comfortable in it.
