What kind of hiking is around the Mt. Fuji area? Trails? Or climbing the mountain itself? What types of alcohol stoves are popular among Hikers in Japan?

Mt Fuji really dosn't interest me very much . I tried to climb it about 7 years ago but the mountain got closed because of a coming typhoon . Mt Fuji is a very easy mountain to climb and in the summer month when it is officialy open there are thousands of people on it everyday . I live on the big north island of Hokkaido so just which is along way from that area and just don't have time or money to down to other parts of Japan . have business partners that live in that area of Japan that run the hikes and treks we do . If you want so info on hiking in Japan you might want to check out the Lonely planet book " Hiking in Japan ". It has the main routes and trails for all of Japan .
