Bryn Llewelyn Guest House
Our beautiful home of Betws-y-Coed is the major village of the Snowdonia National Park. Built largely during Victorian times in a beautiful valley at the meeting point of the River Conwy with three tributaries (the Lledr, the Llugwy and the Machno), the area has long been popular with artists and photographers and is the ideal place to take a stress free holiday. If you enjoy walking, climbing, mountain biking, visiting historic castles or you just want to relax with a book, you will find all you could wish for right here. Betws-y-Coed is also the ideal base from which to explore the various attractions of North Wales. Within an hour's drive of here you can be at the coast at Llandudno or Colwyn Bay, visit the beautiful village of Portmeirion or the castles at Conwy and Caernarfon, shop in the busy town of Bangor, or be high up a mountain enjoying the solitude and stunning views.
At Bryn Llewelyn we aim to offer a friendly welcome. We have seven comfortable, clean bedrooms (two of which are family rooms), all with either en suite or private shower/toilet, colour TV, clock radio alarm and tea/coffee making facilities. A traditional full cooked breakfast is included in the tariff (vegetarian option available). Bryn Llewelyn is situated only 300m from the centre of the village, close to lots of good restaurants and interesting shops. We have ample free parking for guests, bike storage and canoe storage is available, and we are happy to help dry your clothing if necessary! We hope that you will choose to stay with us and we can promise a warm welcome to Wales.

Activities
Snowdonia is ideal country to explore on foot, by cycle, car, bus, train or by horseback from one of the local pony-trekking centres.
Walking/mountaineering
If walking is your interest, then the highest peak, which is also the highest point in England and Wales, is Snowdon (1,085 metres or 3, 559 feet). However, there are 13 other peaks that exceed 915 metres (3,000 feet) and most of these are much less busy during the Summer months. The area has something for everybody whether novice or experienced.
Cycling
Both road cyclists and mountain bikers are spoilt for choice. There are excellent quiet country lanes for touring cyclists, but the area has become popular with people visiting the excellent mountain bikes trails in the Gwydir forest above Betws-y-Coed. This really is some of the most beautiful mountain biking in the world.
Horse Riding
The easy way to explore! Trekking through the beautiful Gwydir Forest from one of the local pony-trekking centres.
Fishing
There is a great choice of fishing nearby from lakes to fly fishing. The season starts in March for river trout and salmon, and May for sea trout (please check dates). Llyn Elsi (a lake close to Betws-y-Coed) is stocked with American Brook Trout and Brown Trout, and the Gwydir Fisheries have fishing on the Rivers Conwy and Lledr for for sea trout and salmon, with fly-fishing, spinning and bait fishing available. Please telephone for more details. |
