Alpujarra Adventure is a small family run apartment accommodation, and walking holiday business.
We are based in Trevelez, which is the highest village on the Iberian penninsula, in a region called La Alpujarra, in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada, in Spain. Our village is on the GR7 walking route and is the starting point for the ascent of Mulhacen, the highest peak in mainland Spain and its other 3000m+ peaks. It's a maze of cobbled streets, with tiny white flat roof cottages clinging to the side of a beautiful river gorge which has a timeless, and spiritual feel about it. We have four century old reformed apartments in the miidle part of the village, with commanding views of the whole area. Still in the traditional style, but with all modern comforts, our apartments are spacious, and provide a perfect place to relax from the rigours of modern society. This really is a place where you can get away from it all, never more than a stones throw away from lovely local shops, bars and restaurants, and yet the tranquility of the place will amaze you. We regularly attract hikers, birdwatchers, climbers, painters, cyclists, ramblers and just about everyone who loves the great outdoors. They all love the high mountains, the flower filled valleys, the fast flowing trout streams, the wonderful local people and their modest lifestyles, but most of all the breathtakingly spectacular scenery the area provides. There are locally made crafts, foods, and wines in the many shops in the village, and we're really well provided for with over twenty local bars and restaurants serving delicious local produce at very reasonable prices.
We can accommodate small groups, and by arrangement will provide guided walks tailor made to your own party, and as we operate walking tours for two of the leading tour operators in Europe, we know just where to take you to get the most out of the area. The city of Granada, with its must see Alhambra palace is definately worth putting on your list of must do's! It has beautiful architecture, fabulous shops, bars and restaurants. The best way to get the most out of a visit is on one of the open topped tour buses, which shows you all the highlights, and by night, Granada really is a very cosmopolitan place to visit.
All this and we're only 90 minutes from Granada Airport, and 90 minutes from the Costa Tropical, so are ideally based for a touring holiday as well as perhaps a two centre break?
