Hiking in Transylvania
Hiking is a way of life! We love it and we want to share it with you. We want to introduce you to the most beautiful places in our area, to see our virgin forests, unspoilt mountain range, breathtaking sceneries and at the same time find a lot more about our culture, customs, people and their life.

Destination: Transylvania! It is surrounded by The Carpathians Mountains. The unspoilt mountains with sharp rock edges, large forests, beautiful fauna and flora make us feel like there is nothing else more pleasant and relaxing than trekking its paths.
SCHEDULES & ITINERARIES
Hiking is a way of life! We love it and we want to share it with you. We want to introduce you to the most beautiful places in our area, to see our virgin forests, unspoilt mountain range, breathtaking sceneries and at the same time find a lot more about our culture, customs, people and their life. After one week in the mountain area you can explore some more or choose a completely different destination: Danube Delta! There you can go fishing and bird watching.
The last day is reserved to visit Bucharest City - Romanian's capital and its best.

For your convenience we use the same accommodation over the whole period, a luxury pension / guesthouse that is serving Romanian food or any other request for breakfast and dinner. Lunch bags will be prepared by everyone. Vegetarian option available. Accommodation in Bucharest in 3*** or 4**** stars hotel.

Programme:
Note: The itinerary for any day is subject to minor changes upon weather conditions.

1st day - Arriving day:
Arrival at Otopeni Airport, Bucharest. Transfer to Brașov area in Transylvania into the heart of the Carpathian Mountains.
Accommodation for the whole period in private pension/guesthouse in Râșnov or Bran.

2nd day - Piatra Craiului National Park
On our first day we familiarize with the area. We step into the spectacular Piatra Craiului National Park through Prapastiile Zarnestilor (canyon) up to the mountain crest, enjoying the sounds of birds, and the fresh and ozonic tonic air. We reach the Curmatura cabin at 1430 m altitude when we start our descent.

3rd day - Romanian Village:
Discover old Romanian mountain village of Magura after passing over Maguricea hill. You get the chance to see and talk with Romanian peasants who spent all their life on this unspoilt piece of land.

4th day - Bucegi Massif:
Trekking into Bucegi National Park we discover the quiet side of Bucegi Massif. Passing by Bran Castle, we start our walk from Moeciu de Sus. In the afternoon, on our way back, we stop for a delightful Romanian food made by locals.

5th day - Cultural Day: Bran Castle and Brașov
Visit to Dracula's Castle. Guided tour to the old town of Brasov including visit to The Black Church, The First Romanian School and The Weavers Tower. Getting in the old town of Brasov, you are surrounded by very old houses, narrow streets, and friendly people. Romanian specialties for dinner at a restaurant in Brasov. Wildlife watching: Bears are living together with men in a neighborhood in Brasov. They are fed and they play with men.

6th day - Romanian Village:
Meet the two hand raised wolves from Carpathian Large Carnivores Project Field Cabin; on our way back admire the Bîrsa Valley on one side and Poiana Marului village on the other side. The village is covering an area as wide as Bucharest.

7th day - Piatra Craiului National Park
Easy walk deep into the forest to the Hidden Chapel. From there we continue to the base of the Piatra Craiului rocky walls.

8th day - Optional day or transfer to Danube Delta.

shopping in the city
more cultural objectives like: Sighisoara - the Medieval City - birthplace of Vlad the Impaler, Prejmer - the fortified church, Sibiu - medieval city, etc ...
one day or a few hours horseback riding in the area near by
one day cycling or mountain biking
visit to the Royal Summer Residence in Sinaia - Peles Palace - a real work of art
9th day - The best view of Piatra Craiului
There is one pleasure to be on the top of a very high mountain, but we will almost touch the mountain from the one next to it, while we are able to admire all it's beauty. We start from Plaiul Foii cabin for a very nice and easy walk having all the time the Piatra Craiului (King's Rock) Mountain on our left admiring all the time the steep cliffs and white rock.

10th day - Fagaras Mountain
Transfer for the day to Fagaraș Mountain range. Go round the peaks above the Balea glacier lake. Afternoon tea on the terrace with incredible views over the mountain.

11th day - Optional day
A day for rest or for some more optional activities.

12th day - Cold Mountain review Enjoy the wonderful area that was used when filming Cold Mountain. There is no other description but I suggest you go and watch the movie.

13th day - Bucegi Mountain
Walk to Glajarie area in Bucegi Mountain and further more up to Malaiesti Cabin. In winter time, the only possible way to the top of the mountain.

14th day - Bucharest
Bus to Bucharest including complete city tour, visit to The House of The People - now Palace of Parliament.

15th day:
City tour, shopping and transfer to Bucharest's Otopeni airport.
