The sometimes severe alpine habitat must be approached with knowledge and constant awareness, some athletic preparation and the right equipment. Mountain enthusiasts have been using Grivel equipment since 1818 in all sorts of situations: audacious peaks, "here-today, gone-tomorrow" ice falls, high mountain ways and treks. So it is natural that Grivel now presents a new range of products specifically for Backcountry, to safely travel over slopes of virgin snow and candid crests. Promenade and Violino are Grivel's snowshoes. Promenade is ideal for any sort of terrain, be it an easy gully or steep slope, on powder or spring snow. Violino, on the other hand, can be used with crampons to conquer snow filled gullies and traverse towards tempting ice falls or goulottes. Grivel's new rucksack Dahu was designed specifically to carry either a snowboard for the climb or snow shoes during the descent. As safety must always be paramount in the mountains Grivel's Air Tech Racing ice axe, the lightest forged steel ice axe in the world and Grivel's G10 super light wide crampons are a must.
