Our world
We make garbage. Sooner or later all manufactured goods become garbage. We'd like to think that our sandals last forever, but they don't. Until they do, we focus on using durable materials and engineering them so they can be re-soled and re-webbed. That way, long before a pair of Chaco sandals becomes garbage, they've been around the block a time or two. The longer it takes a Chaco product to get to the landfill, the happier we are and the healthier our world is.
Our focus
While many businesses focus solely on profits, Chaco seeks to follow the three steppingstones to sustainability: profits, people and the planet. We strive to minimize our environmental impact, better the lives of the people with whom we work and maintain healthy profitability so we can keep our initiatives moving forward.
Our causes
To further support our sustainability initiatives, Chaco donates three percent of after-tax profits to organizations dedicated to caring for people and the planet. We currently support the Conservation Alliance, the Sierra Club, American Whitewater, Leave No Trace, the Southern Utah Wilderness Alliance and many others.
