Everest Base Camp Trek
Follow in the footsteps of the legendary Sir Edmond Hillary and Tenzing Norgay as they approached base camp for their historic first ascent of Mt. Everest more than 50 years ago. We will travel through the homeland of the Sherpas, across high mountain passes and through the valleys of the world's highest mountains.
This Himalayan adventure starts with a breathtaking mountain flight to the Sherpa village of Lukla where we will land on the airstrip built by Sir Edmond Hillary. The trek will then lead us into the Sherpa heartland of the Khumbu region. A highlight of this trek will be visiting Namche Bazaar, the unofficial regional centre of the Sherpa society.
We will continue through the high country to the village of Thynboche, home to the largest Buddhist Monastery in the region. We will trek to Gorak Shep, the highest permanent village in the world and our base from which we will visit Mt. Everest Basecamp.
