Also known as Kutang, Manaslu is the eighth highest mountain in the worldand also the high mountain in the Gurkha massif. Its height is 8,156 meters and it is situated forty miles eat of Annapurna.

The name Manaslu was from a the word Manasa. This is a Sanskrit word which means "mountain of the spirit."

April, May (pre-monsoon) and Late September, October (post-monsoon) offer good climbing conditions.
