SHA treks in GHNP offers the casual and serious Nature lover peerless opportunities to experience the wildlife, forest vegetation, and dramatic vistas of the Himalaya. Rare pHeasants, brown and black bear, Himalayan Thar, Musk Deer, Bharal (Blue Sheep), and Snow Leopards are some of the dramatic animals inhabiting the Park. Dense, fragrant deodar (cedar), fir, and pine forests canopy the trails. Wildflowers splash the hillsides with color, and birds fill the air with song. SHA’s nature treks are accompanied by our trained naturalists familiar with the Park and Park Forest guards, ensuring many opportunities to observe wildlife.
The management of Sunshine Adventures is involved in a multifaceted way with the training of the forest guards, with developing educational and promotional material, advising on parks management plan. Working hand in hand with the “Friends of GHNP” an international association to raise awareness about the park , we are involved in research and a lot of developmental activities in the park
The park has a lot of oppertunities for serious mountaineers as its prestine and virgin.
Traverse snow-capped mountains framing emerald valleys. Journey through lush tree lined forests that lead to serene blue green lakes. Jeep safari to desert lunar-like landscapes that twist and wind their way to ancient ridge-top Buddhist monasteries. We offer unparalleled journeys for all levels of physical, cultural, educational and spiritual adventurers.
We are dedicated to the environment, the local people and non-exploitative sustainable ecotourism. More than any other adventure tour operator in India, SHA “thinks globally but acts locally.” SHA, founded in 1996 is a government approved tour operator in the Indian State of Himachal Pradesh (HP) and registered with Adventure Tour Operators of India.
Dedication to eco-tourism principals and operating tours that are environmentally sustainable and beneficial to the local people.
SHA is a joint venture with SAHARA, a non-governmental, non-profit organization of locally organized Kullu Valley villagers dedicated to helping the local village people improve the quality of their lives by developing sustainable local economies (such as ecotourism). Unlike other trekking companies or tour operators (many of whom are not locally based and often exploit the local population) SHA’s joint venture with SAHARA not only ensures that your fees help to support the local people and build sustainable livelihoods but also helps protect the local environment. SHA serves people and the environment. Money stays with the local economy in contrast to many Himalayan treks where outside companies keep the marjority of the fees. Our trek costs are also very reasonable and lower than what other companies charge. SHA is based in the region we tour. However, working closely with European and American consultants, we provide you with the most personalized care and attention whether you are in your own place
Our meals are cooked fresh on the trek and are nutritious and healthy. We believe that the way to a customers heart is through his stomach. The trek has a variety of cuisines including chinese, indian and continental. Normally hot meals are served all along the trip, though at times packed lunches may be given when distances between stops do not permit cooking. A variety of Indian, Chinese and continental dishes are prepared with fresh meat ( though packed meat is available on request) and vegetables.

We offer unparallel access to the pristine beauty and wonder of the Western Himalayas and the vibrant culture of the renowned Kullu Valley, known throughout India as “The Valley of the Gods.” More importantly, we are the only tour operator approved by the GHNP as a tour reflecting the shared vision of responsible ecotourism. GHNP covers 856 sq km of pristine wildnerness reflecting the unique ecosystem of the Western Himalaya. Trekkers come into contact with rare and endangered animals, plants and cascading mountain ranges. Many international travelers think of Nepal when they hear the word “trek.” Indeed, Nepal is so renowned for trekking that it has been over run with tourists making its routes less pristine and overpopulated. The less publicized Western Himalayas of India, with the creation of protections like the GHNP remain an unadulterated wilderness adventure.

"I" Discovery- The Ultimate Adventure
For the more adventurous trekker we offer the challange of this expedetion. The Great Himalayan National Park has numerous peaks which are unclimbed and unnamed. With an average altitude of 5000 meters, these peaks have never been tried by any mountaineer due to their remoteness and permissions from the Park Authority. Mountaineering is an experience and education that awakens and makes one aware of the splendid diversity that nature has to offer to us. Mountaineering inspires a man to attain that elusive peak within himself. Sunshine’s expert team, with the help of the Western Himalayan Mountaineering Institute and East West Rescue will be responsible for the much needed planning, specialized equipment, technical guidance as well as expertise on mountain slopes.
